After nearly two years, I'm finally done with grad school! Last weekend, I handed in my final paper and presentation to complete my Master of Communication Management at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Here are 10 things I learned along the way:

#10 The academic world has been transformed by technology; for the better.

#9 Simultaneously working and studying is not for the faint of heart.

#8 It really is worth going back to school to challenge and stimulate your mind.

#7 Much of what I knew before holds true, but I have learned so much more.

#6 Working in remote groups requires tact, diplomacy and clarity.

#5 The best learning happens when listening to others.

#4 There is such a thing as strategic ambiguity. Look it up.

#3 Statistics can be fun. Who knew?

#2 It's more difficult to sell an idea than a product.

#1 Communication is undergoing radical evolutionary changes, but it's still all about people.
